Modern life is busy and stressful and many of us tend to gain weight faster than before. This is often caused by unhealthy habits and may result in a tendency to become obese. For many, losing weight seems to be difficult to achieve, partly because not everyone has the time to go to the gym and exercise regularly.

In recent years, pharmaceutical companies have created various pills to combat obesity, one of which is Reductil.

Reductil is administered orally for the treatment of obesity and works as an appetite suppressant. It contains sibutramine hydrochloride monohydrate, which affects the brain’s neurotransmitter. Sibutramine prevents neurotransmitters, like noradreline and serotonin, from going back into the nerve cells. Mood swings and other brain processes are moderated by noradreline and serotonin.

Sibutramine helps in the treatment of weight loss by increasing the amount of noradreline and serotonin in the brain. These chemicals generate a feeling of satisfaction or fullness after eating, even when consuming less than the normal amount of food.

Anyone with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 30 or higher and 27 or higher, but with a tendency to be obese, can take Reductil. The drug is only prescribed for patients who have difficulty losing and keeping off more than 5% of their body weight for three months.

Patients taking Reductil are advised to continue with their diet and exercise, as recommended by their doctor. It is also recommended that they change their eating habits and lifestyle when taking Reductil, in order to assist in achieving their target weight.

Reductil is taken in the morning, even without food. It is essential to be aware that this drug may cause reduced ability when driving or operating machinery, so it is advisable not to engage in such activities when taking it.

Reductil has side effects, including dry mouth, nausea, drowsiness and many others. If you experience any symptoms that hamper your productivity, you should immediately contact your doctor for advice.

Obesity is a problem that should be taken seriously. Always remember to consult your doctor regarding suitable medications and procedures.
