Influenza and Relenza

The influenza season is not over; it never is although it is more prevalent in the winter period. If you are at risk of the ‘flu and have not had the flu jab you should be aware that you are at a greater risk that those that have. Many people have genuine concerns about injections and although these could be unfounded they are none the less genuine concerns.

If you fall into this group you should consider having medication in your bathroom cabinet that will help if you are unfortunate enough to catch the virus. Relenza is now available to help in warding off and preventing the spread of the infection throughout your body. Relenza actually treats the flu at its source by attacking the virus that causes the flu, rather than masking symptoms until the virus subsides. Without a lab test it is not possible to say for certain that you have ‘flu, but the general symptoms include onset of fever and chills, cough, muscle pain, headache, fatigue and weakness. Relenza is a powder that is inhaled twice daily for a five day treatment period.

    This is the same Flu jab that older people get or people that are at a higher risk of contracting flu
